Sick of Teething!

Our poor little boy has had a bit of a rough weekend - yesterday he cut two molars, one on each side of his top gums! (for those counting at home, that's a total of 10 teeth ;-) And along with the new teeth came a pretty nasty cold. Somehow, though, even amidst all of the mucus and gum-throbbing, our sweet baby boy manages to keep a positive attitude. Sure, the children's advil didn't hurt the situation, but I swear he is just the most resilient child ever. Even when faced with challenges, he faces each moment with a positive attitude. He's just the happiest baby!

Here's Truman becoming friends with his new humidifier:

Spring is in the Air

As of late, we have been having some wonderful springtime weather- and our little guy is absolutely loving it! Every chance we get, we have been outside playing and running around. One of Truman's favorite outdoor activities is what we call "grass inspection." To be more specific, he likes to grab a piece of grass with one hand and then poke the top of the blade with his index finger. It's pretty darn cute. Here are some pictures of his new skill:

Busy Boy!

Lately, whenever friends and coworkers ask me how Truman is, my first response is "He's busy!" Now that our boy has mastered the art of walking, he is truly a little busy bee! It is so rare for him to sit still for any extended period of time (i.e. more than 5 seconds). He is constantly on the move, and he is definitely keeping Shea and I on our toes - and we are loving every second of it! Everyday after getting home from daycare, Truman is so excited that he just runs back and forth across the house until dinner is ready. Here are some pictures of his new favorite activities.

Here he is opening some kitchen drawers:

Turning on the dishwasher (interesting note about dishwashers - if you don't have it locked children can pull them open and get into trouble, but if you do have it locked children can turn the knob and constantly turn on the dishwasher :-)

Contemplating turning over the recycling bin:

And running over to begin climbing up the stairs:

I can't really remember what we did with all of our free time before we became parents, but I'm sure nothing was as fun as chasing around our little man!

Silly Boy

This is how Truman sat while eating dinner tonight. Aren't you all glad to see the great table manners our boy has ;-)

Even Truman knows he's silly!

Thriller!

Truman is now officially a walking boy. Well, actually he is a running boy! When walking, he still likes to keep his hands up for balance, though, and Shea and I have started to call it the "Thriller Walk", as in Michael Jackson's iconic song/dance. I swear, everything our boy does is adorable!!!

Saturdays Rock!

Saturday is definitely the day of choice in our household. While Sundays are spent running errands and grocery shopping, Saturdays are typically filled with a lot of laughing, cuddling, and fun. Usually we start off our day with a swim lesson; however, today we just could not wake up in time for the 8:30am swim! We were all so exhausted - in fact, Truman, who usually wakes up around 6:30am, didn't stir until 8:15! It was great :-) So instead we just spent our day at home and it was perfect!

Truman was lucky to get a guitar concert from Daddy - while at first Truman tried to join in by biting the strings, he soon learned that fingers are better!

Halfway through the "concert" Truman decided to go get his favorite toy - Shea's water bottle - and bring it over. Truman is now really into walking, but seems to prefer if he has something to carry around on his journey :-)

Truman also had fun playing with his tongue today - he kept sticking it out and bending it back with his teeth - it was pretty darn cute:

After a quick outfit change due to some diaper spillage, Truman was back and ready for more fun! I swear, he really is the happiest baby I have ever met. He is just always smiling and laughing, which in turn makes Shea and I smile and laugh! Life is truly great :-)
