Lately, more and more people have been telling me that they think Truman and I look alike. I guess I kind of see it, but mostly I just find it amusing! We have read, though, that children who are adopted often pick up many of their mannerisms and facial expressions from their parents, thereby making them look more alike. Shea and I have noticed that sometimes Truman will laugh in a very loud manner, much like my laugh. But in terms of looking alike, I'm not sure. I guess it's the shape of our noses and round cheeks?
Regardless, Shea and I think that Truman is the cutest, sweetest boy in the world!

Water Park!
The pools opened up today, and boy were we glad! After several weeks of having temperatures in the 90's, we are now able to enjoy the sunshine without getting completely overheated. After going back and forth over which pool to get a summer membership for, we decided on the water park that is only 15 minutes from our house. We were a little nervous about whether there would be enough for Truman to do there, but he LOVED it! There is a really cool kids area where the water is only 9 inches deep, so Truman was able to run around and play in the water. His favorite activities were probably the swing and the "water mushroom", which he thought was hilarious whenever the water hit his arms. I think we have a very fun summer ahead!!!

Books
While Truman has always loved to read, lately he has become very into his books. He is constantly looking through his book pile and picking out the perfect book to read. As we've mentioned before, he is particularly drawn to Dr. Seuss. Lately, his tastes have become even more refined, with him consistently picking either Hop on Pop or the ABC book. Here's a picture of him with his favorites (you can see how his pile of books is behind him and he's brought forward his two favs):
It's so cute because after he brings a book to us, he gets very excited when we start to read. Our boy is easy to please!

90 Degree Heat = Nothing But a Diaper
Expect more and more photos of a nearly-naked baby as the NC heat creeps higher and higher... (and yes, Truman is chewing on his croc - he's got another molar coming in and for some reason the only thing that seems to make him feel better is chewing on his croc - and grandparents don't worry, we cleaned it first :-)

It's Pizza Time!
This week at work the elementary students at my schools had to undergo end-of-grade tests (yuck). The only positive thing that came from this was that the PTA at one of my schools bought each staff member (including their itinerant school psychologist) their very own pizza to take home as a reward for making it through this time of year (do you see why I love my job? :-) We decided it was the perfect opportunity to let Truman try pizza. I'm not sure if we've opened up a can of worms, but he freakin' loved it! We just gave him a slice and he ate away. At first he took nice, small bites, but he soon started stuffing the whole slice in his mouth. By the end, he ate about 2/3rds of his slice - not too shabby at all.
