Today was a big day for our little guy, with a couple big life changes taking place! First, ever since we took custody of Truman, it seems like he has been teething. Then, the past couple of days his bottom gums started getting very red and bulging a little bit. Yesterday, we could start to see a little something pushing through, and then today he woke up from his mid-morning nap and voila, a tooth had emerged! So far, you can only feel the very edge of it, but it's definitely sharp and present :-) It's his bottom front tooth on his left and I'm guessing his bottom front right tooth will soon follow. While we are definitely going to miss his big, gummy smile, we're excited to see his new addition!
Then, tonight we were all sitting around (by all I mean Shea, Truman, Grandma Bernard, and myself) just hanging out and watching Truman scoot around the room. Last week Truman learned how to get up on his knees and has kind of just been rocking back and forth. Well, today he moved his first knee forward! And then, to top it all off, he was sitting on his bottom and maneuvered himself up onto his knees. He sat on his knees for a little bit, and all of a sudden he leaned forward against his Momma and started getting his feet beneath him, and before we knew it he pushed himself up into a standing position! Truman was absolutely thrilled by his new discovery and got the biggest grin on his face. When we then put him back on his bottom, he did the same sequence of events two more times in a row!
We continue to be so proud and amazed by our little boy and all his accomplishments! We can't wait to see what comes next :-)
P.S. - Video and pictures soon to follow!
